Good winterhardy bush that reaches up to 1,5 meter after a few years. Also very suited to grow as a hedge (cordon) up to 2 meter high. Prefers a place in half-shade, full sun is tolerated. Prefers a soil with a good open structure. (a mulch cover is apprecitaed by the plants) Fruits very soon after planting. Fruiting depends on the wheather (cold and rain), but is rarely a problem.. Flowers early (april) but is very cold tolerant. Flowers appear in small bunshes (future grape) with yellow-green flowers.Pollination is mainly done by bumble bees and solitary bees (by occasion also by honeybees). Care: remove crossing branches to keep the bush open. Add yearlu some compost and keep the soil mulched (wood clippings,...). Be aware that also the birds appreciate these berries very well.... . |
